Doing His Work

PEOPLE DON'T KNOW

God has been talking to me about how His people don’t know right from wrong.

Mark 4:23 If any man has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him perceive and comprehend.

Many Christians have lost track of the truth (what is right and wrong), because they are not listening.   If we’re listening and can understand then we can hear and be attentive to that truth we hear, but, when we hear and don’t understand it is because we really aren‘t listening.  If we aren’t listening for whatever reason, our ears will become dull of hearing.

Knowing the Word but not acknowledging it as truth, is what makes ones ears dull of hearing.

Matthew 13:15 For this nation’s heart has grown gross (fat and dull), and their ears heavy and difficult of hearing, and their eyes they have tightly closed, lest they see and perceive with their eyes, and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears, and grasp and understand with their heart, and turn and I should heal them.

It is because we are not serious about God that we don’t pay attention to the Word, thus that we don’t know to apply the Word to our lives.  If we were serious and giving the Word our attention, we would have God’s attention, which would include His correction and guidance to live in His truth.

Jeremiah said if you seek Me as a vital necessity you will find Me.  When we find God, we will know the truth, and He by our obedience to Him (to His truth), He will set us free.  Thus the bottom line is; are you seeking with aspirations, are you purposefully hearing the truth, so you can live it?

Mark 4:24 And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.  25 For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force],

Our part is to be careful what we’re hearing.  Paying attention to the Word and applying it to our lives which proves we are taking God seriously, that we actually believe what we say we believe.

James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

If we don’t pay attention, even what we already thought we knew Satan will steal from us.  He will take what we knew and twist it, turn it and pull on it until he has taken it from us.

When we pay attention to the Word then we will hear God’s voice, and welcome His instructions/correction  that would keep us in His truth.  Having the wisdom of God is vital to our having understanding, and that wisdom is only revealed to those who are listening, those who are seriously seeking God.

Then and only then can we do that greater work we are called to do.  Then we can go and confront and inform those who don’t know what is right and what is wrong.  Then we can lead the blind and not be the blind leading the blind.

Luke 6:39 He further told them a proverb: Can a blind [man] guide and direct a blind [man]? Will they not both stumble into a ditch or a hole in the ground?
