Breaking Harmony
Breaking Harmony
James 4:17 So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin. AMPC
To be right with God to be in harmony with Him (in agreement with Him), is to not sin. When we know what to do or not to do and do it anyway it is sin and we break off our relationship with God. When we break off that relationship we also break the harmony— the stance of peace we have and the knowing of how to live in the plan God has for us. Knowing what God said and His plan fades away from us when we break harmony with Him.
When we stay in harmony we have peace, joy, and contentment —not frustration, not a sense of being alone and hoping what we have tried to accomplish (without Him) will work out.
The enemy (knowing God and His way) will be avid about getting us to disregard what God has said so we are not in harmony with God.
We may even think we are in agreement with God but because we didn’t heed God’s voice, because we compromised His Word —we have actually negated our agreement with God. Then living a false peace that sort of feels ok —but really it isn’t real if we examine ourselves.
If we don’t examine ourselves we will stay in that place because we instead of living ruled by the Spirit we live ruled by our flesh —we do what feels good not realizing it is a temporary feel good answer, not the real answer, not the answer that will flourish into righteousness.
So the answer is to not let our flesh dominate us, but do what we know to do. If it seems too hard we have Someone to call on in our time of need (Matthew 11:28-30). If it seems to hard it is really a matter of spending more time with Him, going to Him to get His strength. If it seems to hard, count it all joy knowing we will mature to a place of not lacking anything (James 1:2-4)
