When we begin our walk with God, in the natural it seems foolish to do what God is telling us to do, but the reason it feels foolish is because we are not familiar with God's ways.
Romans 10:11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.
This is my one of my favorite scriptures to look at when I need encouragement to keep going in the direction God is giving me. When we rely on God (trust Him) He gives us His understanding so it easier to obey Him.
When my son was born with a birth defect, God spoke these words to me, “As you learn to live your life My way your son will be healed.” Those words were of revelation and comfort to me knowing that God was teaching me how living His way would lead to my sons healing. I had to keep focused on what God was teaching me or fear would overtake me. Keeping my mind on God’s way and His promises kept me in peace and I knew that even though nothing had happened yet, it would as I changed my life to live it God’s way.
As I learned how to live God’s way, I learned to trust Him through my experiences with Him. His revelation empowered me as I gained understanding of why His way was good and healthy. Having His knowledge gave me confidence in how I was living, why I was doing what I was doing, and the results it would bring.
As I experienced God I also experienced His love for me. Trusting God comes from experience with Him and feeling His compassion. As I learned more about Him, I learned I am important to Him and He is in love with me. God is not just in love with me, but He is in love with all of His children. His love for us is His priority and when you know that you will easily be able to trust Him.
God has a plan for us to live good and when we do things His way that plan will begin to unfold. We will be blessed with natural things, relationships, health, healing and everything else that is good because, ultimately, we have gained the revelation of His love for us.
Having a true relationship with God is one where we will begin to know what God knows. He will share with us His ways, His thinking, and all the good He has for us.
John 15:15 I do not call you servants (slaves) any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing (working out). But I have called you My friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father. [I have revealed to you everything that I have learned from Him.]
Having His knowledge of living His way, gives us the confidence of knowing why we are doing what we are doing and what the results of living His way will bring. When we do things God’s His blessings will inevitably take course in our lives.
When God told me I had to learn to live my life His way, what He was saying was I had to learn His principles, His way of doing and being right, just like His Word says In Matthew 6:33, doing things His way and then all you need will be added to you. You won’t have to chase what you need but what you need will be added to you.
So all I did and all you have to do is get in a place where you can hear God and then do everything He tells you to do. That is how you live your life His way.
My son’s healing had begun and has been a process, just like He said it would be as I learned to live my life His way. As I apply His principles in my life I become closer and closer to Him, and nearer to His promises manifesting in my life.
God showed me that if He would have healed my son before I knew how to live His way, I would have lost that healing because I wasn’t living in His Kingdom principles. He said I had to know Him, and know how to live by His principles to maintain a blessing like healing. God wants us to know that we don't receive healing by chance, but by knowing how to live in His Kingdom by His principles. Then we can receive our healing, and all the other blessings He has for us and retain them.
We have to have God’s understanding, know His way of living to live well in His Kingdom. We have to know how to live in His Kingdom, just like we have to know how to live in the world by their system. Living in the world would be to put all of our trust in a man with a profession, or a friend, but in the Kingdom of God we put all of our trust in God, taking His advice above all others. The way do that with confidence is we have to take the time to know God, and that produces trust (faith) in God.
God also said that to me one day, in fact early on when I was asking Him to heal my son, He said. “You can’t trust someone you don’t know.” As I took more time to know God, I realized He was right, there was so much about Him I didn’t know. He is so much in love with us, His compassion for us is extraordinary and the good He wants for us is unlimited. The experience you have with God makes you realize His love for you and that is what builds your faith in Him.
We need to know God and have His knowledge to live In His Kingdom here and for eternity, and that happens as we acknowledge Him, changing our lives to live His way, trusting that He will lead us down a path of only good.
God’s way is different than we are used to living, therefore it takes us being open and committed to learning His way, practicing His principals and then having faith to see the results of His goodness happening in our lives.
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows that and that only is what he will reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
You will not be sorry when you take the time to sow to the Spirit, which is taking to time to know God and live by His principles. As you purpose to live His way, at that appointed season, you will reap what you have put time into.
God is calling us to live in faith in Him, which means to rely on Him, His ways, His opinion, His instructions, ultimately rely on His love for you.
Hebrews 10:38 But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him.
It is a journey of courage, and it takes perseverance, but you will never be sorry or ashamed that you took the journey and ever so glad you didn’t shrink back in fear. When you start to see God's faithfulness, you will never be the same. Living our lives His way makes us right with Him and gives us confidence in Him. His way is a way of health and healing, living in a way that is flourishing with goodness all the time.
