GOD IS WAITING

God asked me to quit my job and to work for Him.  I didn't know it at the time but I learned through that experience that He was asking me to leave the world's way of doing and learn how to live in His Kingdom.  I learned that His Kingdom is one of giving and as we give of our things, our gifts, and talents our needs are met.  Following God's principles will meet our needs which is not working to make a living, but giving for our provision. Giving instead of working allows us to live a life of purpose rather than spending our time like Jesus said those without God do; chase after things.

Below is an insert from my book, Giving Your Way Out of Debt.  I wanted to share just a little part of my transition from living to meet my own needs, to relying on Him to meet my needs.

GOD IS WAITING

God is so anxious to give to us, that He just waits for us to take Him at His Word.  He is watching and waiting to show Himself strong to those that would trust Him enough to do His instructions.  I can tell by how He responds to me, and by how quickly He responds to me, that He is just waiting for me to take Him at His Word.

Mark 12:41 And He sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the crowd was casting money into the treasury. Many rich [people] were throwing in large sums. 42 And a widow who was poverty-stricken came and put in two copper mites [the smallest of coins], which together make half of a cent. 43 And He called His disciples [to Him] and said to them, Truly and surely I tell you, this widow, [she who is] poverty-stricken, has put in more than all those contributing to the treasury. 44 For they all threw in out of their abundance; but she, out of her deep poverty, has put in everything that she had—[even] all she had on which to live.

I love this!  If you read between the lines, you can see how this woman must have been following Jesus around hearing the truth He taught.  She had the Word so big in her heart; her faith was soaring so high, that she was moved to give all she had.  Being dependent on what Jesus was teaching, relying on the truth she heard, she gave all she had, expecting her needs to be met by God’s law of giving.

If that wasn’t her plan, she would not have given all she had.  She wasn’t telling a sob story, she was giving all she had because she didn’t have enough.  She wasn’t looking for a hand out; she was doing what Jesus was teaching her.  She expected that as she gave she would have all her needs met and more besides.

Jesus noticed her not because she was complaining and begging, but because she was doing the will of God.  She did what Jesus taught her. She heard the Word and she did the Word when she gave.   Don’t think God won’t notice you when you honor Him and live as He teaches you to live.  In fact, He is just waiting for you to act on His laws.

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.

His eyes are on the lookout for those who will honor Him enough to do His Word.  When you live in accordance with God’s laws that gives Him permission to show Himself strong on your behalf.  He is looking and waiting for you to notice He is the way to your happiness.

Your giving will not go unnoticed by God what you sow you will reap and more besides.  God is sure to note what you have given and will multiply your seed back to you just as He promised.

I was at the grocery store when God told me to give all I had. The store I was at had grocery carts that you put a quarter into to use the cart. The quarter is returned to you when you return the cart.  When I was returning my cart one day, I heard God tell me to leave my quarter in the cart.  I knew what He was up to; I knew He was giving me direction to give me increase. We always had a need before payday and used our change to get what we ran out of.  I knew God was showing me that our need would be met as we gave, even the little we had.  He was teaching us to not only trust Him for our immediate needs, but plant for future needs.

I was seeking God in learning how to be free from debt and live with more than enough in His Kingdom, and He was faithful to give me needed direction for my seeds to be sown.  Like the widow, I had heard the Word and believed that my giving would increase me so I gave all I had.  I was learning not to store up for myself in a jar, but to put treasure in my heavenly account where moth and rust could not corrupt it.

Doing things God’s way, giving rather than hanging onto, will move you out of the world's system into God’s system--in His God’s Kingdom where you will increase.  Once you are out of debt and you keep giving you will increase to more than enough with no need to borrow.  When you know God’s intention in telling you to give is so you can have more--it makes giving easy.
