Hold Tight To His Teaching
Hold Tight To His Teaching
John 8:31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free. AMPC
God wants us to know His will, to be full of revelation knowledge. In John 8 Jesus was teaching us how to live in that place of having understanding and how that understanding would set us free.
Jesus said if you hold fast to My teaching, then you will know the truth. When we live according to the Word, when we give God honor by doing those things He tells us to do then we are truly His disciples and we will have revelation knowledge. Revelation knowledge will come, we will know the truth which is the will of God, and that truth will free us from bondage. His truth, knowing His way will set us free from the bondage of sickness, disease, pain, worry, stress, poverty and any thing else the enemy tries to enslave us with.
We won’t have to live by reasoning and theories or the opinion of others because we will have the revelation of the will of God for ourselves. In fact Corinthians tells us not to live by reasoning’s, theories, or whatever exalts itself above the true knowledge of God. Corinthians tells us that we should live by revelation knowledge and that revelation knowledge will prove in our lives to be the perfect will of God.
The Pharisees and the scribes in John 8 had been questioning Jesus about His ways when Jesus confronted them and said you live only by what you see. Jesus was telling them they had no revelation knowledge and that they were blind to what was real because they wouldn’t listen, because they thought they knew something.
When we won’t listen to Jesus’ instruction we won’t hear the truth either. We will instead question the will of God because we haven’t been attentive to His Word. When we let circumstances control us we won’t be able to see God just the circumstance.
Revelation knowledge reveals the will of God and so when we don’t have His revealed knowledge it will be impossible to receive from God what God has already provided for us. Questioning the will of God keeps us sick, broke and in desperation of true happiness, peace joy and contentment.
So how do we live in the will of God and know for sure what the will of God is? Do what Jesus said, hold tight to His teaching. Look at the Word, do the Word, live in the Word and He will reveal the truth to you.
Many won’t take the time to know God, to hold tight to what He has said and those, those who won’t develop in the Word, will never know the truth that will set them free. As in any relationship, a relationship takes time, time that you have to be willing to give.
