Causing Your Loved Ones To Stumble
As Parents and believers we have a huge responsibility to teach our children the truth. Jesus is clearing saying if we cause a child to sin and stumble, to be against Him….
Mark 9:42 And whoever causes one of these little ones (these believers) who [acknowledge and cleave to Me to stumble and sin, it would be better (more profitable and wholesome) for him if a [huge] millstone were hung about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. 43 And if your hand puts a stumbling block before you and causes you to sin, cut it off! It is more profitable and wholesome for you to go into life [that is really worthwhile] maimed than with two hands to go to hell (Gehenna), into the fire that cannot be put out.45 And if your foot is a cause of stumbling and sin to you, cut it off! It is more profitable and wholesome for you to enter into life [that is really worthwhile] crippled than, having two feet, to be cast into hell (Gehenna). 47 And if your eye causes you to stumble and sin, pluck it out! It is more profitable and wholesome for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell (Gehenna).
Having children as noted is a huge responsibility, one we cannot do on our own. My prayer is that our influence on anyone, any child we come in contact with would be to teach them, not our opinion, not the opinion of our Pastor, or a man, but God’s opinion. Teach them by our relationship with God, by our actions, our words, our lifestyle God’s way of doing and being right.
Pray and ask the Lord to help you to be an influence for Him and not to be tangled in sin. Ask Him to lead you down the narrow path, ask for His correction so that you will be leading His little ones to Him.
