You Meet Their Needs - I'll Meet Yours

You Meet Their Needs - I'll Meet Yours

James 2:15 If a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day, 16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep [yourself] warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do? 17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

Did you know we have what some else needs?  Yes, and if we fail to give it because we are afraid our needs will go unmet our faith is actually dead and we don‘t live in the Kingdom of God.

It seems James is talking about things, but he is actually talking about how God has designed His Kingdom.  His Kingdom is created in love and so giving love is how His Kingdom stays alive and full of power.  Giving love is why His Kingdom is so wonderful and so powerful.  For God so loved us —He gave His Son!

We were designed and gifted to do the greater work and that of course is the action of love!  It takes faith to love others before ourselves because it seems we have to take care of ourselves first, but really His way is that we take care of His love action of giving to others and He will take care of our needs.

You know the world tells us we have to first and foremost take care of ourselves before we can care for others, but let me propose this to you today.

As a child of God when we go to God, love Him first with all of our heart, soul, and mind then we have taken care of our self—first.  After meeting with Him, we will go and give knowing He has our needs already covered.

Lately I have been so busy about His things that the little things I wasted time with have gotten lost —in my not having time for them. Really those things were worrisome things I was trying to take care of myself, and when I think about not having time for them,   I hear Him whisper “You take care of My stuff I will take care of yours.”

All that said it makes the most sense that loving others should be before loving ourselves in that if a brother is in need then he comes first.  Our brother coming first gives God permission to do His best for us because then we have action to our faith.

What I want you to see today is that physical things overtake our thinking not allowing us to see that spiritual things are the most important, and which really the spiritual exercise of loving are seeds planted to meet our physical needs, plus.   The things we need are planted for as we give love, and that is a spiritual law that will bring into existence that physical thing we need.

Therefore living in the Kingdom of God is liken to; If a brother is in need, because you live by the law of love you meet that need with the gift you have been entrusted with.  In the Kingdom of God where we put others first —their need becomes our priority.

Luke 6:38Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.  AMPC

Can you see the system of love here now?  We are naturally so worried about ourselves as Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, we forget to love and give to others and if we did just that what we need would be added to us.

What if we did just that, actually acted on the Word of God?  Do you think our loved ones would see the Kingdom of God and want to live there with us?  I do.  Let’s get out of the world and move all the way into the Kingdom of God!
