Where Does Confusion Come From?

When we look at Gods’ Word we can find answers to any questions, any situation we encounter.  Today I want to address confusion, why we‘re confused, where it stems from, and how to overcome it.

James 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth. 15 This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal). 16 For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices.

When we find ourselves confused we can clearly see from the Word of God that we are acting outside of Gods’ law of love —and instead we have been entrapped by the enemy’s plots against us.  He plots against us using, rivalry, selfish ambition, unrest, and discord— and evil practices.  Jesus taught us in Mark 4 that he will use anything to steal from us and stealing from us when we don‘t we’re being stolen from—is perfect bewilderment.

Mark 4:19 Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.

All of these mentioned are all things the enemy uses to keep us confused and in the dark.  When were confused, we don’t know what is going on, why we prayed and we’re still sick, why we tithe and still we’re in lack, why we don’t hear God, why this, and why that.  The enemy uses things like cares and anxieties, distractions to control us, and we’re not even aware we’re being infringed upon.

When were confused the enemy has been successful in stealing God from us.

Mark 4:15 The ones along the path are those who have the Word sown [in their hearts], but when they hear, Satan comes at once and [by force] takes away the message which is sown in them.

Jesus told us ahead of time that as soon as we chose to follow Him Satan would come and by force take away the message, take God — His Word from us.  We don’t have to let Him, but we do because we are naive of the Word of God.  We don’t listen to the Word to the place of paying attention (acting on) to what Jesus said.  We’re not hearers of the Word when we don’t heed to the instructions we are given.

Many of God’s own just give in and let the enemy steal, kill, and destroy in their lives for a lack of knowledge.  But really we have no excuse for a lack of knowledge, the Word of God is full knowledge and when we’re seeking God— He will reveal His knowledge to us.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge,

We need knowledge, God’s instructions to be the over comer He is calling us to be.

What is so very pressing that the enemy works so hard to steal, kill and destroy in our lives?

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

God has a good plan for us, for our good: thus the enemy will use confusion, jealously, discord, anything— that will keep us from knowing God and the good God has for us.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

As soon as we choose God and get on that path God intends for us, that path that leads to the good life— the enemy’s intention is to get us off of that path.

He wants to steal the knowledge of how much God loves us, the good life God intends for us, and the knowledge of being able to live in that good right here and now.  The enemy wants to steal our confidence (God’s knowledge) to prove God’s will is good and perfect.

The enemy wants to keep us from getting on that path that God has planned for us that leads to the good life here and now — and the life He promised when we leave here.

Not only does God want us to live well here and now, but to be that example of who He is by living well— by living the good life here He has planned for us.  God wants us to show the Father through living the good He planned for us.  It is God’s plan for all to witness God’s goodness in our lives, which will be an attraction for salvation for those who don’t know God.

Gods ultimate intention is that all would know His love for us, that all could experience His good here, and the joy of eternal life when they leave here— God is in love with us!

So how do we escape that plotted confusion the enemy harasses us with?  We resist it, by resisting his devilish ways.  We resist being distracted, offended, jealous, and discontent, we resist being preoccupied with anything other than the things of the Kingdom of God.

Simply put when we keep our eyes on the Prize (on pleasing our Father by having faith in His love for us) and not forgetting His quest, and that we apart of His quest, we will be over comers.

When we live in agreement with God, we will live in love.  It will be our quest to love, which love eliminates jealously, rivalry, discord, false reasoning’s, selfish ambitions, pride, and all other evil practices.

James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).

When we go to God, and live by His law that peace that passes all understanding will garrison in our hearts and that guard of peace will outwit any confusion the enemy tires to control us with.

Philippians 4:6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ([definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. 7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

How do we keep that peace?  We refuse the confusion, by thinking on theses things.

Philippians 4:8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].  9 Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.

When we submit to God and His ways of doing, the enemy will flee!

James 4:7 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.
