TEETER TOTTER

I was standing by my kitchen sink doing dishes —thinking about how long this season had been.  This thing I had been believing for —something very important to me, has taken quite some time.

Suddenly I had a vision —I was standing in the middle of a teeter totter. God said that was me standing in the middle of this teeter totter.  —I was standing with one foot to the right and one to the left.  The right foot I could see was the way to keep believing and the left was quit and give up, get depressed, and just forget it, at least for that day.

I was thinking that and He knew it.  I hadn't done that in forever, but He knew I was considering it—just quitting for a day.

When I first started believing that is exactly what I thought, and what I did, just for the night I would be offended and quit.  I am not a quitter and so I wasn't about to quit —but wanted a break from the pressure of believing!

I realized then He just answered a question I had been pondering, hadn't asked, just pondered.

When I first started to learn faith, I would get discouraged at how long things were taking and I would quit and give up, just for the night. Just like I just described, just for the night.  Now He just showed me that was why things took so long back then, because I kept giving up. I kept taking a break, at least once a month.

All those thoughts came quickly and caused me to understand that I had to go right on the teeter totter. I had to stay the same because staying the same would bring my answer quickly. To choose to go back and forth would be believing and then not believing. Then my miracle would be delayed.

I Know a double minded man will not receive anything from the Lord, and so if I go back and forth, I am double minded.

James 1:6 Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.7 For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,8 [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides]. God was encouraging me to stay right, to remain the same so that this thing could happen and that I could continue to role model faith.  He was also giving me this message to encourage someone else in my life as well as myself.

Today He wanted me to share this with you.  He wants to say to you, don't go back and forth because if you do you are making that thing you are believing for take forever. Plus if you keep feeding that doubt, it will tire you to the place of forever giving up.

On the other hand if you tooter to the right and stay there, if you stay the same and believe no matter what you see —that is faith.  Faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6) because faith allows Him to do in your life those things that are good, those things you are believing for. If you go left and quit for a day, that is not being the same.  That is not being constant and of course constant is abiding (John 15:1-8).

Let this encourage you in knowing that giving up even if for the day or the night will set you back in time —and gives Satan a foothold.  Giving him even a little time is enough time for him to plant some doubt seeds in your thinking to grow and then he will use them for a next time. If there are no seeds —there is no next time.

In all Jesus is saying how important it is to stay the same.  To stay connected to the vine, not giving the enemy a foothold into your thought life.

Keep the same, don't change, don't be wishy washy just because of what you can see, or what you don't see—just believe! Stay on the vine, stay the same, don't change your mind.  Then —you will grow some fruit and in that you will have that thing, you will have that success you need, you have been looking for.

John 15 I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.2 Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.3 You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you].4 Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.6 If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned.7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.
