Faith Without Action Is Dead

James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

Believing God for something will take some faith action. For example if I am believing God to be healed of the flu, yet I keep talking like I am sick and acting like I am sick, I will stay sick. It is my faith action of talking and acting healed that will manifest the healing that was already provided for me (Isaiah 53:5).

Having faith is really believing the promises of God before you see them. So if I believe 1 Peter 2:24 that says by His stripes we were healed, (I was already healed when Jesus took those stripes) then I will act healed. I will speak to the mountain, the impossibility in my life, like Jesus said to do, and then what I said will happen, if I don’t doubt (Mark 11:20-24).

If I don't doubt I won't be without action to my faith.

I started learning this when my son was born, he was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. Everything I said I believed, God taught me I had to back it up with my words and my actions.

God was right of course, what I said and how I acted brought on the manifestation of my sons healing. At two weeks old he was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus and had a shunt put in his head. I didn’t take any precautions other than the doctor checkups, we didn’t let the thought of it overtake us but we thought and acted like he was healed. I called my son healed, and he was healed.

His urine was backing up into his kidneys at a year old, and I took faith action, I spoke to it and acted like he was healed and his urine no longer backs up into his kidneys, he is healed. He started having seizures; we bound the enemy, he no longer has seizures. He walked with a walker until we took away the walker; he wore braces until we eliminated the braces. He couldn’t ride a bike, and now because he pressed in and believed he could, he can ride a bike.

Acting healed when you are not healed takes faith, and having faith takes changing your mind. Changing what you think to think what God said without proof - acting and talking healed when you can’t see it first.

Proverbs 23:7 says as a man thinks so is he. It is obvious that we don't get healed by being favored or by mistake, but we get healed when we think on and believe what God said. If we decide to believe we have to take the time to train our thoughts to agree with God’s Word, and teach our children to do the same.

If we have faith we will act out what we believe.

For the last fifteen years my son has been learning and practicing God's principles for himself rather than me doing it for him. It has taken time but he is seeing results according to his faith. According to his faith even though he can't feel every part of his body, he can ride a bike, walk, drive a car, and live a normal life. He attempts things that someone without faith wouldn't. He is believing God for the full manifestation of feeling every part of his body and to have his legs restored in fullness of strength, feeling and form. That means that he has to do things at times that are hard to do.

My son has great faith and I am confident he will see the rest of the manifestation of his healing because he is acting and talking healed. He believes the Word of God above what he can feel or see, and he talks to the mountains in his life instead of letting the mountains dictate to him!
