We Have To Pick One

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in)

This teaching from Jesus has so much revelation in it and if we are seeking revelation we can clearly see.  We can see that in order to serve God we have to make a determined choice between Him and whatever it is that has us.  Whatever it is that is controlling us, whatever we put before God has to go— Jesus said we should despise it!   We have to hate it.   Why?  Because if it has us it is our god and we can’t have two masters.

We have to pick one —

If we love God we have to be devoted to Him and serve Him—  live by His way of doing instead of living controlled by the enemy.

In serving God we will live in His blessing; in serving an object we are serving the enemy and the enemies plan if you didn’t know is to kill, steal, and destroy.

Jesus came that we might have life in abundance, until it overflows.

John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Food is a good example and was used by Satan right in the beginning and is still what he uses today to try and control his victims.  Although Satan is not limited to food of course, food is an easy bait for him to use to entice us because food is not recognized as Satan controlling us, but as a daily requirement.

Whatever Satan can make to seem the most important need in our life he will use to lure us away from God.  He will make what we think we need seem more important than serving God, so important that we will compromise the Word, then making the object of compromise our god, without us knowing it.

If food, money or anything else is the most important thing to us then it is our god.  If we know the Word of God but compromise what God says because of something we think we have to have it is our god and we are serving it.

If you have a god before God, you can make a change, but do it quickly!  How?  All you have to do is make a determined decision to choose God and then ask Him to help you.  If you’re not sure if you have a god before God, you can ask Him to show you and He will.  If you are open for correction your Father will be there for you.  He wants nothing more for you to learn to walk in that abundant life!

Nothing is too hard with God, He has a good plan to help us with everything we get ourselves stuck in!  He is good=].
